CERCLL Faculty Research Grants

This program promotes scholarly work connected to the mission of CERCLL as a Title VI National Language Resource Center, namely to research and develop the teaching of culture, language and literacy, especially within less commonly taught languages (LCTLs). 

These awards provide up to $5,000 to tenured/tenure-track, research-track and continuing-track University of Arizona faculty.

Funds may be used for most justifiable purpose excluding faculty salary/supplemental compensation, travel not associated with the execution of the project, and course-related expenses. 

The deadline for application: April 24, 2017, for projects beginning in summer 2017.

Summer PD Series Important Dates:
  • Early Bird Registration rate ends April 30
  • Travel awards: Deadline extended to May 5
You could attend for free: 
  • Like CERCLL's facebook page between now and May 15 to enter a drawing for a free workshop registration of your choice (the draw is on May 15; if you have already paid, we will refund a registration fee)
Participants can attend one, all, or any combination of the workshops in this series. They take place at the University of Arizona, except for June 8 which can also be taken online. Continuing Education for K-12 teachers--6 hours per workshop day.

Foreign Languages and the Literary in the Everyday (FLLITE): Teaching in the L2 Classroom
* Travel scholarships available for June 6-7. Deadline to apply: May 5.
 
June 8 - Jonathon Reinhardt (University of Arizona)
Gameful Foreign Language Teaching: Engaging Learners with Digital Insights
* This workshop can be attended in person or online.
 
June 9 - Maker Day: An additional day of making materials and lessons based on the series.

Most workshops are only $15 per day for registrations received by April 30, and lodging is available on campus for just $38 per night.
