Margini di comunicativizzazione del drill

I drill rappresentano dei golden oldies: al pari della traduzione e del dettato, sono attività ‘sempreverdi’, soggette a continui rinnovamenti, anche quando pare ne sia giunto il tramonto. Con questo saggio intendiamo chiudere, di fatto, una trilogia,  avendo già dedicato spazio a come fornire un a cornice comunicativa alle altre due classi di attività: dettato e traduzione, appunto (Torresan, 2011a; Torresan, 2012). Anche i drill offrono ampi margini di comunicativizzazione. È possibile impostare drill come esercitazioni che prevedono uno spazio,nel loro stesso svolgersi, per la comunicazione. Essi possono, peraltro, costituire la base di percorsi in cui l’attenzione sulle forme si avvicenda con leggerezza, ma al tempo stesso con confini netti, a quella sui significati.

Drills are golden oldies: even when their popularity seems to have waned, they still are ‘evergreen’ activities i.e., always open to innovation, like translation tasks and dictation exercises. After having previously examined the role of communicative framing in both translation and dictation activities (Torresan, 2011a; Torresan, 2012), this article completes a trilogy by investigating the use of drills within a communicative framework.

Like other activities, drills can also serve as useful communicative tools: they can rely on an interactive communicative space and be based on the relationship between form and content, without being too demanding or lacking focus.
