One-year Instructor of Italian, Eligible for Reappointment

The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time, one-year instructor position in Italian to start Fall 2016, eligible for reappointment. The fall 2016 start date would be August 15, 2016 (arrival by August 1). Duties include teaching a minimum of 12 credit hours (3-4 courses) per semester and service work. The instructor will teach the lower-division language sequence (first, second, and third semester Italian) or other courses as needed.

Requirements: M.A. degree in Italian, Foreign Language Pedagogy, Second Language Acquisition or a related field; experience teaching Italian language to English-speaking students at the college level; native or near-native fluency in Italian; and excellent command of English.

Preferred qualifications: M.A. degree in Italian, FLP or SLA; demonstrate knowledge of, or experience in implementing ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines; OPI training; OPI certification.
