The Department of French and Italian at Dartmouth invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in Italian beginning July 1st, 2017. Initial appointment for two years, with the possibility of longer-term renewal upon successful performance; annual teaching load of six courses at all levels of Italian language. The successful candidate will join a vibrant language program committed to excellence in foreign language teaching and learning; s/he will work closely with the Language Program Director in the department, and will also participate in a broader community of language pedagogues on the Dartmouth campus. Familiarity with instructional technology and best pedagogical practices expected; service commitment includes active involvement in the organization of co-curricular activities. Native or near-native fluency in Italian; minimum of M.A. in Italian, Second Language Acquisition or Applied Linguistics; and at least three years of college-level teaching experience required.
