The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) is accepting applications for the NIAF on Campus Fellowship now through Friday, September 13th2019 at 11:59 pm EST!

 

We are looking for 15 Italian American college students that have leadership roles in their college’s Italian clubs to help create a unified strategy to organizing and managing their Italian/Italian American organizations. The goal of NIAF on Campus is to support the engagement of future generations of Italian Americans in the leadership of our community, bringing together the most active student leaders throughout the nation. To be eligible, students must be part of a pre-established Italian club on their campus.

 

This program begins with the Fellows’ collaboration with NIAF at our 44th Anniversary Gala Weekend in Washington DC to discuss how NIAF can act as a resource to existing groups on college campuses.  NIAF’s support will continue through NIAF sponsored/club generated Italian American educational programming on each group’s respective campuses during the 2019-2020 academic year.

 

Program Includes:

  • Roundtrip travel expenses (i.e. airfare or train fare) for student to Washington, D.C. on the weekend of November 1st – November 3rd 2019
  • Two-night hotel accommodation at Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
  • Free access to all NIAF Gala Weekend Events including the Saturday night 44nd Anniversary Gala Dinner
  • NIAF’s financial support for two educational Italian American events on their university campuses and surrounding areas.

To be considered for the NIAF on Campus Fellows program, a student must:

  • Be an Italian American college student who is active in Italian issues through a club or a language society.
  • Have a professor of Italian language or Italian/Italian American Studies, professor of language studies (Italian studies or Italian American studies), or department head submit a letter of recommendation to niafoncampus@niaf.org by Friday, September 13th2019 at 11:59 pm EST!
  • Submit an online application by Friday, September 13th 2019 at 11:59 pm EST at the link below.
  • Be members of the National Italian American Foundation. Not a member? CLICK HERE!
  • Be able to attend the Gala Weekend and participate in events.
