Montclair University Summer Italian Intensive Course for College Credit
We are pleased to announce the 2019 edition of the Summer Italian Intensive Course for College Credit open to high school students of New Jersey (and the broader Tri-State area) at Montclair State University. Registration is open through May 15 HERE.
Through classroom activities and field trips, this affordable program aims to consolidate rising senior students’ intermediate Italian skills on their way to an advanced level, including AP classes and the AP exam.
New this year is a RESIDENTIAL OPTION that allows students to live on campus while classes are in session. As in previous years, SCHOLARSHIPS are available.
For full information see WEBSITE, VIDEO and FLYER below.
This collaborative project, which brings together high school teachers and university professors in the design and implementation of the course, is a tool to encourage the study of Italian language and culture along the HS-college continuum, and thus promote Italian Studies as a discipline at large.
The course is offered through the Inserra Endowed Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies, the Italian Program (MLL), Summer Session, and Early College, in association with a consortium of NJ high schools, with the renewed and expanded support of the IACE (Italian American Committee on Education), and a new generous scholarship program made possible by the NJIHC (New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission), along with other associations and individual donors.
