On the occasion of our eleventh professional development program for teachers of Italian, the national Coccia-Inserra Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Teaching of Italian (K-12) was presented to Sabrina Lupoli, an outstanding elementary school teacher from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A very special thanks to the distinguished members of our 'blue ribbon panel' of judges, chaired by Prof. Clorinda Donato (California State University, Long Beach), with Prof. Andrea Baldi (Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ), Prof. Roberto Dolci (Universita' per Stranieri di Perugia), Ida Nolemi Lanza (San Pedro, California-retired/2013 Coccia-Inserra Award recipient) and Director of Education Annavaleria Guazzieri (Consulate General of Italy in New York). The presentation of this award is a component of the annual "Teaching Italian Symposium/Workshops" series, developed and organized by Prof. Enza Antenos and Dr. Mary Ann Re (Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America--Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ).
