Application Criteria
Must be a current high school or middle school teacher who is planning to teach in high school in the future.
- Must register as a teacher-member in the Italian Language Foundation.
- Must provide a letter of reference from a colleague or principal.
The application and the letter of reference must be submitted by Monday, April 24, 2017 at lglindia@hotmail.com.
The winners will be contacted and announced on the ILF websites.

Title: Professional Development Workshop for Italian Teachers - Levels I through AP
Course Duration: Monday, July 10 - Friday, July 14, 2017
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Course Description:
This one week professional development seminar is designed for Italian teachers interested in learning various instructional designs and assessment methods for students enrolled in the study of the Italian language and culture from the lower levels to the AP level. Participants will be exposed to strategies and techniques that can be applied immediately in their lesson plans. They will also have an opportunity to engage in a professional exchange of ideas, develop materials for their courses and assess e-mail replies, persuasive essays, and interpersonal and presentational speaking exercises for all four levels.
Additionally, participants will be exposed to the Standards for Foreign Language Learning: Preparing for the 21st Century and the AP World Language and Culture curriculum framework in the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication.
All lessons are based on authentic materials developed by the instructors.

Participants will live on campus, eat meals in the dining halls, and sign the Language Pledge.
Lunch will be from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
In the evening attendees will have the opportunity to practice their Italian with native speakers.
