From 5 to 22 June 2017, in occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Nobel Prize winner author Luigi Pirandello, the Italian Institute of Culture – Montreal is proud to host the International School for Italian Theatre "Giovanni Grasso" 2017.

International School for Italian Theatre "Giovanni Grasso" 2017

From 5 to 22 June 2017, in occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Nobel Prize winner author Luigi Pirandello, the Italian Institute of Culture – Montreal is proud to host the International School for Italian Theatre "Giovanni Grasso" 2017. During their three weeks of training, 15 – 20 selected students will study and work closely with professionals of Italian theater and literature, improving their skills in language and culture, movement, improvisation, diction, text analysis and interpretation. Training activity will go hand in hand with the preparation and staging of Luigi Pirandello’s play “Questa sera si recita a soggetto” (“Tonight We Improvise,” 1929) at the Casa d’Italia theater, in the heart of Little Italy. The school and the workshops will be hosted by the Italian Institute of Culture, located in Downtown Montreal. The training will take place June 5 to 21 from 9:30 to 17:30/18:30, and the final staging will take place Thursday, June 22.

 

Courses offered: Intensive Italian language, History of Italian Theater and Opera, Italian Diction, Improvisation, Movement, Basic & Advanced Acting Techniques, Text & Character Analysis, Basic & Advanced Interpretation Techniques.
